Comments and Ratings for File Manager Pro App
Good for file transfer (2.2)

I hate iTune wanting to have everything in- and out- of iPhone through it. So this File Manager Pro app is a very useful one. I like the WiFi transfer function. Now, I just transfer music, audio books mp3s, videos all through this app. One thing I notice is this app does not have sophisticated interface for listening to music. I can only play, and it can only sorted through file name (A-Z). Also it seems to play ‘every other song’ (skip next one). This would be fine if it plays music, but when playing audiobook files, skipping tracks cause confusions (code bugs). I hope the next update will fix this problem.
What a rip off (2.2)

File Manager Pro is ... Nothing like is described in the app description. It indicates that it connects to iCloud and yet there is no (at least intuitive) way to connect to my iCloud files. It does so on the file picker but you can't do anything with them. If that is the case then what is the purpose of having a file manager that you can't do anything with. When trying to use the add connection, it doesn't list iCloud, only Cloud Drive (MSFT). I bought this because I work mainly off my iPad and therefore rely a lot on my iCloud account but iCloud doesn't really have a manager so I thought this app was going to help me manage my files on the iCloud but in reality it just doesn't do anything, nothing at all of what you say it does. I'm really disappointed. To top things off, you indicate a support website that basically is just a promotional website with absolutely NO support. What a rip off!!!

If I could leave a negative star I would, I lost all my files and it wouldn't let me load any more new ones.
Would get 5 starts for 2 features (2.2)

I like the way the apps behaves. 2 features would make this app the best, better than filer. I would like to associate deafault apps to open a file. Without this the ui becomes clumsy when trying to transcode videos on vacation.
Second, it I could batch open files in another app this would be the intergalactic file manager. Since it supports split screen, I have found it useful to send my 60 football clips a week to iconv while in split screen, doing this in a loop would amaze balls.
Simple file organizer (2.2)

This app is a nice way to organize pdfs for when you don't have an internet connection (eg, access to dropbox). I haven't looked into any advanced features as I use it mainly to store articles and documents.
Brings sanity to iOS... (2.2)

I'm the type who likes to have access to files I created, whether text, audio, video, images. Apple forbids direct access to my files, but this app makes it easy to put them in a common sense, accessible structure. My iPad and iPhone would be useless without it. Best app I own!!!

This app does what I need but has some hiccups and at least one flaw. As I can't find a better alternative, I will keep working with it for now.
Flaw: When I copy files to "Local Files," whether from a cloud or from my iPhone, meta data is lost and the file is renamed. My file names are usually descriptive and the date/time stamp is often important for my documentation.
Hiccup: Files do not always copy to the "Local Files" from cloud accounts. This may or may not be due to cloud limitations.
Hiccup: Photos frequently have thumbnails representing other photos (i.e. thumbnails don't match up with photos).
Hiccup: When a folder of photos is copied to "Local Files," some photos occasionally get duplicated in the root directory. The photo is still in the folder copy, just duplicated elsewhere.
I'm hoping this issues get resolved.

The only thing it does differently than the free version is connect to cloud storage. Remarkably unusable since it is not an "upgrade" to the free version it is a completely separate app - THIS PIECE OF JUNK DOES NOT SYNCH FROM THE FREE VERSION!! Its making me re-do all of my saved files one-at-a-time. TOTAL BS.

So.....I'd been using the free version of File Manager and thought I'd support them by buying the Pro version. And I did.
I have quite a large number of files stored for use by that free version but I thought the Pro version would simply use the same files.
Well....no it does not. ....okay.....
Ah, surely there is a simple way to have the Pro version switch to that directory or easily import my files....again, NO.
Uh, let me just contact Support with this issue because I'm surely missing something. This is such a glaring necessity for the application that it must have been addressed.
No response from Support for over a month!
Case closed. I wasted my money and File Manager Pro gets a "1".

This app has lots of cloud access and also has a feature which allows me to open files stored in its app space from other apps. For instance I can enable 'file picker' and then use Excel to open a downloaded file. I will give it a five star when I can access an external thumb drive. ☺️

The Best File Manager I've Seen - (Beats MAC and Windoze) (2.2)

I was wondering what the new improvements were going to be.
It seems that (not related to this product) but whenever a new version of iOS comes up, I have a backlog of 130+ apps that have updates, and my iPad4 reboots either when it is finished or when it freezes.
So finally I got to download the new update and this is a WOW update. it has everything I've been looking for. Especially being able to copy files from one cloud to another.
As a photographer, I use Dropbox as my backup for my photos. And yesterday I hit the 99 percent full, and I just can't justify paying $99/yr.
Now I can copy all those photos to any of my other clouds, or FTP it to my dedicated server.
No one will get to see it, since I have complete control of my server. Also with FTP, when I design and write a program or a complete system, I can deliver it via the FTP.
And the look and feel of this makes it easier to get around.
Thanks for a KILLER upgrade.
Yes, clumsy but don't just blame File Manager Pro (2.2)

Doing any transfer of a file with any Apple iOS devices remains painful - but this App can cope with it. It has been working without issue with my iPad, iPhone, Dropbox & Google Drive.
In my opinion this is a 4 out of 5 and worth the few $$$ I paid to pick it up.

Password or pin only works till it doesn't. Despite saving the password in both a password manager and with paper/pen the password wouldn't work. Neither could I recover files saved.
I tried it one more time and it seemed to work but after I had to restore the OS, the password was erased and I lost all files again.

I use this App every day to transfer files from Dropbox to local storage. I then have the files available to me offline for viewing/reading/listening later when the Internet may not be available. It is an excellent, well written program. If you know a file from a folder then this is the file manager for you. If you don't know a file from a folder, or you know what podcasts are but haven't a clue what an .mp3 file is, then stay away.
