Find My iPhone:
If you misplace your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, the Find My iPhone app will let you use any iOS device to find it and protect your data. Simply install this free app, open it, and sign in with the Apple ID you use for iCloud. Find My iPhone will help you locate your missing device on a map, remotely lock it, play a sound, display a message, or erase all the data on it.
For missing iOS devices, Find My iPhone also includes Lost Mode. Lost Mode locks your device with a passcode and can display a custom message and contact phone number right on the Lock Screen. While in Lost Mode, your device can keep track of where it has been and report back so you can view its recent location history, right from the Find My iPhone app.
Please note that Find My iPhone must be enabled in iCloud settings on your device before you can locate it with this app.
• Locate your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac on a map
• Play a sound for two minutes at full volume (even if your device is set to silent)
• Remotely lock your device with a passcode
• Display a custom message on the Lock Screen
• View recent location history of your device while in Lost Mode (iOS devices)
• Get driving directions to device location
• Remotely erase all content and settings on your device
• Battery charge indicator

Before updating to the IOS8, this worked great. Now I have to enter my password each time I open this app. Very frustrating! When I view my family, it jumps from one location to another and back to the Location, finding out that's not where they're at really. Not reliable anymore.

The iOS 8 update has email notification to the apple email on the device that can't be stopped. So the thief sees emails or your kid you might be keeping tabs on. Kind of kills the purpose of the app in my opinion.

I got this app just in case my phone or my daughters phone gets stolen. My daughters phone got stolen at school by a classmate and the teacher was looking for it so was my daughter. So luckily, I tracked by using this app. If it wasn't for this app I wouldn't have found it. It was inside the boys pants when the teacher heard the sound from the phone. Who ever did this app, I do want to say thank you so much for having this app in the App Store. Thanks again.
Go Back! (4.0)

I really hate this update with a passion. I now cannot login without receiving an email notification that my account has been logged into. This is counterproductive. If my phone is stolen, I'm not going to want someone knowing I'm logging into my account to find it so that they can just turn the feature off altogether and leave me phone-less.

I love this app. I have seen it be very helpful to many people. But PLEASE give us the option to turn off the email notification feature. Most people don't need an email every time they sign in. It's a nice feature for those who would like it, but don't force everyone to have it.

The whole point of find my iPhone is to be able to track the device without the person knowing when stolen. But now you get an email when you track the device. Horrible set up.

Please fix this app to allow the user to choose to receive the emails, stating that your email was used to log into the app. It is so annoying. Please fix it.

Was great before this update! Annoyed that it emails me every time I use/sign in to it. I have plenty of emails to go through, don't need more telling me I used it because I misplaced my phone. Please make it like it was before no sign in emails.
Touch ID to Sign-In? (4.0)
9/30/2014 2:43:00 PM
4/5 By markbyrn
Since the app routinely asks for the iCloud password to sign-in, it would be a real treat if Apple used it’s own Touch ID function for the sign-in process. Other than that, the app works as advertised. Another reviewer mentioned that it didn’t work on cellular but it works fine for me whether the device is on Wifi or cellular; one might want to check under the cellular settings to ensure cellular data is enabled for the app.

I did love this app. It helped find my phone a couple of times. Also it helped me know where my stolen phone went. I hate it now. If my phone was stolen the person that has it is going to get a message saying I'm tracking it. Will delete now it's useless to me
Doesn't remember password (4.0)

This used to work but now it won't remember my password. May be related to the fact that I now am using a different iCloud account but it's still a bug.

iOS 8 broke true function (4.0)
9/29/2014 5:21:00 PM
3/5 By TWINkiesMommy2009
I have the new iPhone 6 and my husband has the iPhone 5. We are both updated to iOS 8.
They must've changed how find my iPhone works because it used to work fine where we could see each other wherever we were. Now when my husband is connected to the Wi-Fi at his office it shows him as off-line. The reason is because his office has their Wi-Fi blocked from the iCloud. This is common for companies to secure their information and it has always been this way.
Now, he would not be able to tell if his phone were stolen and off-line or if it were just lost around the office. His office is a huge campus. This is a problem.
They say this works for whenever the phone is connected to the Internet. That is not true. It actually has to be connected to the iCloud for the phone to be found. It was not like this before iOS 8. Please fix this Apple. Otherwise it makes it useless in certain situations.

Prevent power down once lost mode activated would be nice. This would also solve the problem of thieves of putting it in recovery and restoring it thru a jail break tool.

I left my phone at the grocery store. Once I discovered my phone was missing I loaded it up on my computer through iCloud. It located my phone as inside H-E-B I was able to then lock my phone and call the store. However they had already seen my phone making noise and they had called me back to tell me my phone was found. This app is awesome!
Great but could use "can't turn off" feature (4.0)

My boyfriends phone was stolen and long story short we tracked it locked it and the person called the number you display but he didn't want to return it until later. Punk. He turned it off and it was no longer able to be tracked. It would be nice if there was a feature to make it so the phone couldn't be turned off it would have saved a lot of trouble. We got the phone back though!!

Put it back the way it was, looks like everyone liked the other version better

It would be awesome if you can connect more than 1 apple account to it with families that have different accounts for their devices. Meaning you would have all of your accounts and its devices instead of loggin in and out and trying to remember passwords and emails for all of them. Faster, easier, and better I think it would be.
