Also the app doesn't recognize phone numbers in the body of the email? I have to painstakingly copy the phone number, and paste it.

It does lag and I'm glad all of the tabs are visible since apple mail doesn't. You don't seem to have a Gchat app for iPhone that you developed. I hate that.....

Go to a label. Try to archive it (aka 'remove label'). Does nothing now. Was working fine but broke a few releases (months) ago. Google do you test ANY of this?

I loved the Gmail App at first, amazed by its convenience and the many accessible functions I wouldn't have expected to be included (signatures created via Gmail on desktop and being able to have access to all my linked emails). But shortly after the last update, the app hasn't stopped crashing within half a minute or less of its use. This needs to be fixed. Otherwise looks like I'll have to revert back to Apple Mail.

It always shows one more message in my inboxes than I actually have. Even after I read everything and leave the app, it still shows one unread message (until I go back in, check my two accounts, and leave again). Even see the last behavior when I'm using the Gmail web interface and clean out my unread messages -- it still shows one unread on my iPhone. Frustrating.
No contact groups or direct integration with online contacts is an oversight. Make it so I can tap a number and dial. The default Mail.app can do it!

I was hoping that these reviews were isolated incidents but (on my iPad 4 and iPhone 4s both on 6.1.2) I am looking at the spinner much more often and the sync is not as reliable. Some times messages show up as unread after reading on one device and sometimes as I am reading them they will not mark themselves as read until I view another message and come back or I have to close and restart the app. I have already uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled. Been waiting for swipe to next/previous message for a while and it's great but need sync to work first. Never had these issues with previous versions.

The current version fixed a but that prevented sliding lock screen notifications from opening that specific email (it used to just open the inbox). But it reintroduced the bug that continuously sends new message notifications about the same email, no matter if that email is already read, archived, or deleted.

Or it saves them incompletely - not that it saves an earlier version of what I wrote, but that it just saves half the message (but retains changes I made to the beginning of the email). Bottom line, I've wasted a lot of time rewriting emails. What a headache!

Inability to copy txt from the app, inability to click to dial phone numbers etc. seriously limit the functionality of this app. I don't understand why google can't get these things right. All of their other apps let users do this.

Prior to iOS 6, I don't recall this app crashing near as much as it does now. I believe this is because iOS 6 is built for a longer screen than I have on my iPod Touch 4. I use Gmail a lot on my computer, but the constant crashing (especially with screen orientation changing, or even moving the iPod at all with the app up) causes a literal 95% chance of a crash. Please look into this. I like my iPod and have no interest in purchasing a new one to fix this error.

Like its clean interface and how I can access the folders so easily with a swipe. A nice experience and some useful features/navigation that make it better then the iOS default mail ap. Some items to make it better:
1 An empty all button for the trash can. Have to select emails one at a time right now to permanently delete them. Awful and time consuming!
2. Be able to create labels.
3. Can't smart zoom into content with double taps. Emails don't seem to want to format to a mobile screen format.

I am all in on gmail and this app is a must.
Two big wishes in the spam folder:
select all and delete forever button right on top. I use delete forever way more often than "not spam".

Okay finally there is navigation between messages but there is no undo (for archiving/deleting messages and for sending messages). Ugh! Please fix this.
