Note: Currently for Gmail and iCloud accounts. Other email platforms are on the way!
Mailbox is a completely redesigned inbox that makes email light, fast, and mobile-friendly. Quickly swipe messages to your archive or trash. Scan an entire conversation at once with chat-like organization. Snooze emails until later with the tap of a button — they’ll return to your inbox automatically so you can focus on what's important now.
Mailbox checks your email from the cloud and delivers it to your phone securely. Now with Auto-swipe, Mailbox learns from your swipes and snoozes to automate common actions. Mute that conversation you don’t care about, snooze messages from your friend to this evening, or route all of your receipts to a list — automatically.
Mailbox’s delightful UI and smart features make getting to zero — and staying there — a breeze. After you experience a clean inbox, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Dropped one star due to crashes (2.3.4)

The app is a good app overall, but the crashes persist even after the last two updates.
Crashing very frequently (2.3.4)

Following iOS 8 update, this app is crashing with almost every action. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Either iOS or the app needs a fix. Sad.

Well I'm not ready to bury her in the back yard yet, but the titles of many recent reviews by longtime fans that aren't so enamored any more, ring very VERY true. The constant crashing and assorted bugginess, such as the o-so-weird ratcheting progression of many html rendered emails from micro to [finally!] readable, is unfortunate and very annoying.

How many times can Mailbox crash while trying to open? A lot.

[UPDATE]: no news after more than a month. Still crashing like hell.
Mailbox is my email client of choice (still). Too bad they released a crazy bugged update. Two or three crashes in a row is routine. Sad. Hope they fix it real soon.
Awesome, yup (2.3.4)

Love the app. Has forever changed the way I look at managing mail. Let's bring outlook/business accounts into this app! It's time! That would be phenomenal

My review has changed as the app has been buggy for months. Used it for more than a year prior but not impressed with the developer lately.
Regularly crashes when composing emails! (2.3.4)

Great email management tool, but regularly crashes when composing and replying to emails. I've lost several emails which took a lot of time to write. I just lost an email in which I attached some pictures and wrote details on those pictures. In the middle of writing, the app crashes, and when I relaunched it, the email I was working on was gone. Not saved in drafts, not available to continue - it was just gone and lost forever.
JUST. KEEPS. CRASHING. (2.3.4)

Uninstalled this a few months ago because it JUST. KEPT. CRASHING. re-installed recently to give it another try, same thing. Too bad.

There is no select and "delete all" feature. When I delete multiple emails, one behind the other, the app crashes. Irritating.

Crashes constantly. Don't bother. There are a thousand other alternatives that ACTUALLY improve over time.
This is a perfect example of what happens to companies that get too big. This was bought by Dropbox and it's only gotten worse. Literally it's less functional now then when it launched almost 20 months ago
PLEASE FIX THE BUGS! (2.3.4)
1/24/2015 8:18:00 PM
3/5 By dforvendetta
There are a few super annoying bugs that need fixing. 1. The app crashes ALL THE TIME! Usually when I send an email but sometimes on startup and sometimes just randomly. 2. When I'm composing an email and I want to read through what I've written, I often hide the keyboard so I have more screen space to read. Then, when I tap somewhere within the text to make an edit, the cursor ALWAYS goes all the way to the bottom of the text. I then have to scroll back up to where I want and tap again where I actually want the cursor to be. This is super obnoxious with long emails, especially when scrolling to find the right spot causes the keyboard to be hidden again and then the same problem happens all over again. Fix this please.
I want to like it… (2.3.4)

1. It must be able to handle iCloud aliases.
2. It must be able to handle multiple signatures per account.
3. I really wish these email app alternatives would not require creating a unique email directory structure [schema]. I really do not like that. I do not want to have to use two email apps to manage my email, and creating a unique directory structure requires that - for those who already have a well-established directory structure.
Items one and two are deal killers for me.
I guess this app really is intended to do one thing, and that is to get your email down to zero, and nothing else. I use email to conduct business that requires two way communication and items one and two are vital in that workflow, for me.
1/24/15 - I'm still using this app to manage work mail because my employer uses Google for that. So, I'm using the beta for OS X and it's okay, not great - But, the development is going really slow, not one update to the beta desktop version since I downloaded it last year.
Was great but... (2.3.4)

It's a good app, probably top 3 for email on iOS. I wish it did tasks like google
Inbox. I wish it feeled as sturdy as acompli. I would adopt it again with a few minor improvements.
Nice, but still getting used to it. (2.3.4)

I think this Mailbox app is pretty nice, but I'm still getting used to it.
One thing I don't like: if you want the notification badge to show a count, it can only show total emails in your inboxes, or just a "1" to indicate you have 1 (or more) unread emails.
Why can't it show the actual number of unread emails?
Other than that, I think it's a good app.
Not in love anymore (2.3.4)

Unfortunately I must concur with many of the recent reviews. This was by far one of my favorite apps, but over the last two months it's been very disappointing. It crashes almost every time I open the app. In order to use, I must open the app, get out of it to double click home in order to hard close the app, then reopen it. Kind of a pain. The native iPhone app is working better. Such a shame that I'm going to delete, but this has been a known issue that should have been corrected long ago. If Dropbox isn't interested in this app any longer, then neither am I.

Best Email Application! (2.3.4)

Mailbox turns your email into a todo list. My favorite feature is being able to postpone an email for a future date. I love not having those emails cluttering my inbox and I can forget about them until it's time to do something about them. Then Mailbox brings the email back to my inbox just when I need it. This app has made me better at remembering tasks and more productive during the day because I'm not spending so much time sorting through my email. Now I'm just waiting for them to come out with a Windows app.
Love this app (2.3.4)

Combines my todo workflow (using 'Things' app) with a great native gmail client. Genius! Cleared out my email for the first time in weeks — and I'm keeping it that way.
**update** has gotten buggier and buggier. Crashes multiple times a day.
A Regretful Beta experience (2.3.4)

I'm an huge fan of Dropbox and have been for years! I liked the concept behind Mailbox and things went sort of ok when I installed it on my iPad2, but it crashed often. So I loaded it on my iPod Touch as well and it worked for a little bit, but started crashing also...then duplication started happening. I would sift through Mailbox on my iPod in the morning and when I checked it again on my iPad2 at work, nothing had updated! So I sifted it again and when I checked my iPod in the evening, somethings had changed, but others did not and now I had duplicate emails! So I contacted support and followed their instructions, but now neither app on iPod or iPad2 will remain open long enough to even check email. Its a sad beta experience, you are better off just using Apple Mail and moving things out of your inbox by yourself.

Still my favorite Gmail app for its simple and clean interface.
Please fix bugs on latest iOS:
- Crashes when viewing inline images
- Inline images don't always display on first open, file name shows instead, are unclickable for download/display

I don't usually write review BUT....
The app crashes every time I open it. Literally five crashes before I can actually get to my mailbox. It wasn't like this before. Please fix before you start adding new features!!!
