Comments and Ratings for Airmail 3

excellent customer support (3.3.2)
5/30/2017 1:23:03 PM 5/5 By airmail_user
I recently had an issue I needed to solve, and when I went to the FAQs on their website, I decided to just type in my question to the live chat that appeared on the page. Sarah was great, she knew exactly what I was referring to when I described my issue, and gave me a link that listed all the steps I needed to do. It was quick, to the point, and it solved my issue right away! Excellent customer support.

It works fine. All I want is to have the gmail work with the MacBook. You can simply sort things and get on with your day. Sarah from support helped clear the massive inbox download (command A).

I Love Airmail 3 (3.3.2)
5/29/2017 5:45:07 PM 5/5 By 99Solutions
I bought Airmail for my iPhone since it’s the best, most usable email client since Mailbox died — (RIP Mailbox! You live on in our hearts!). I recently picked up the Mac version, and boy am I glad I did. I reached out for support on the Things 3 (which is also delightful) inegration, and Sarah from Airmail support responded within 1 minute giving me the lowdown on how to use it. 5 stars!!

Fantastic Fast Support (3.3.2)

Have been using Airmail for a year now with no issues. Had my first need for support today, nothing wrong with airmail just something i did not know how to do. Sarah from support responded immediatly after my support ticket was created and we had it all sorted very quickly. Thanks again Sarah !

Excellent support (3.3.2)

I went to their support area and chatted with Sarah, who is very nice. She was expedient in identifying the problem and giving a fix. I like that in a developer. The app iteself only has one quirk that I haven’t been able to fix. The minute you put a “delay” on sending messages, most of the times the sending process fails and the message never sends and gets “stuck” in the drafts folder. The only way I’ve been able to fix is by telling the app to send immediately. Aside from that, it is excellent and has so many options that enable you to configure that app to your heart’s content.

Beautiful App! (3.3.2)

I’m a fan of Airmail; I love the clean design, and I’m really digging how far the customization goes with this app … It’s a great pairing with the iPhone version. Their support is great too! I submitted through their website and Sarah appeared within minutes to the answer to my question, she was very helpful! Grab this app!

Sorry - but couldn (3.2.9)
5/25/2017 6:36:45 PM 1/5 By Shija03
I was pretty excited about the application - but once I tried to start using - whenever trying to configure an account it hangs there and there is no way to interrupt it but forcefully stopping it (either though task manager - forcefull quit, or via 'root') - I am surprise this is so highly rated when it could not handle interrupting an attempt to connect (Exchange, Outlook, IMAP, ... ) I am pretty sure that the application is great using GMAIL, but it has prooven not to live up to its $10.00 ( :-D )

Finally gave up (3.2.9)
5/25/2017 9:17:43 AM 1/5 By Airmail mishtamesh
I gave up and and uninstalled. Can’t run my work on a buggy product, while there are quite a few competing products who do the job.

Solid app with fantastic support (3.2.9)
5/25/2017 4:48:32 AM 4/5 By Joshua Kaufman
I’m a long time user (2+ years) of Airmail since 2.0 and have had a good experience using the app with Gmail, Exchange, and IMAP accounts. It has a good, clean design and performs well. I wouldn’t call it the simplest email app: the preferences can be tricky to navigate, but they have a fantastic support team that’s happy to help. (David from their support team has helped me on several occasions.) It’s the only email app I’ve found that meets my many requirements. If you’re looking for a well-designed, robust email app that can handle multiple accounts, then Airmail is a great choice.

Overall good and quick reponse (3.2.9)
5/25/2017 1:14:02 AM 4/5 By Senshen23
I am been using Airmail for months and it is almost a great intellegient mail client that can set up several labels and rules to sort mails automatically. And the support reponse is really quick that in hours even minutes. Thanks for the patience from Sarah, she helped me to examine the app even though it turned out to be somewhat false alart.

Believe the One-Star Reviews! (3.2.9)
5/24/2017 9:45:46 PM 1/5 By Your Fave Dave
UPDATE: Been trying Airmail 3. Still not reliable. Believe the bad reviews and do not trust your emails to this inept program. Alas, this program is the opposite of reliable. It’s been giving me trouble — lots of little annoyances, but I kept with it, hoping they’d fix it. But then the latest update DELETED ALL MY EMAILS AND ACCOUNTS. Yup. I opened the program and it was as though I had never opened the program before — it had no emails, no accounts, nothing! (I am extremely experienced computer user, and this is not a mistake on my end.) Tech support’s answer to the problem? “It must be some kind of glitch.” Gee, ya think? They said to "uninstall the program, reinstall it, then download all messages from the server" (a process that takes about 12 hours). Apple’s Mail has its flaws, but none as bad as this app. I sure wish someone would make a good email app. Airmail 2 sure as hell isn’t one. It’s far too unreliable. That is the one unforgivable sin in an email program - we must be able to rely on it. WARNING: Stay away from this program if you value your time, because this wastes it.

Airmail 3 - my favorite email client for Mac (3.2.9)
5/24/2017 4:59:31 PM 5/5 By jfcct34
I use exchange at work. I know - ouch. Airmail makes it easy to do what I need to do and ALL of the connectors with other systems, deferments, etc are amazing features I cannot live without. At home I use it with my gmail accont with the same excellent results. I can process so much email so quickly! I have also used the support chat on their websites a few times with great results. Today I talked with David who helped me answer a question that perfectly solved my problem and I am even more productive now at work. Thanks David and Thanks Airmail team.

No Longer a Great App - Not Even Good (3.2.9)
5/24/2017 3:47:07 PM 1/5 By thinker,08
This thing is crap. My rules no longer work and my IMAP account doesn’t download my messages. I had discovered by accident that my outgoing emails weren’t even sending; They were stuck in my drafts folder. I was told to download their beta. After downloading the beta, I was told I had to redo ALL my preferences; That took a while. Now I’m told to redo my rules! What the heck! Just give me my money back and I’ll go back to using the standard Mac Mail app. Just downloaded the latest beta of today: Version 3.2.9 (437). None of my emails for my IMAP account are downloading, no matter what I do. This update is no different from the previous. I have to go into my Mac Mail to get my email. Save yourself the embarrassment of emails getting lost or not sent, and don’t download this until they get all the bugs taken care of. This version ISN’T it. I just discovered all my incoming IMAP email is downloading into my trash! I kid you not. Oh my gosh!

It just works great…it must be awful to be this good (3.2.9)
5/24/2017 3:26:01 PM 5/5 By Mezito
Great product that is beyond the functionality of the Mail app in MacOS. The interface is beautiful, the integration with exchange works wonderfully. Overall a satisfied customer AND Sarah at customer support is pretty cool too.

Great support staff (3.2.9)
5/24/2017 12:54:23 PM 5/5 By Bravemed
I’ve had several interactions with Airmail’s support staff as they walked me through some issues, listened to my frustrations and patiently helped me make better use of this app. I really love the email app. While nothing is perfect it comes pretty close and if I need help, they are always there. They also listen carefully and are always trying to improve. Cannot say enough about them!

Didnt work for me. (3.2.9)
5/24/2017 8:28:15 AM 1/5 By Rolyat aniitsirK
I couldnt get gmail to sync. Customer service was slow and a largely clueless. Needless to say, they werent able to figure out the problem. I really wanted it to work out.

I really want to like this... (3.2.9)
5/23/2017 8:09:15 PM 3/5 By Ncmerritt
I was looking for a replacement for Apple Mail. Specifically, I wanted something that allowed me to put multiple labels on conversations (Apple Mail allows one flag per conversation, and has a limit of 6 flags). AirMail has a lot of great features - it’s got a beautiful UI, and lets me create as many labels as I want (and custom-color them!). However, the labels fall off of the conversations as soon as someone replies (I am not the only one with this issue, according to The People of The Internet). However, if I re-apply one of the labels, ALL of the other labels will reappear. So, it kind of works, except you have keep relabeling everything. So, not actually that helpful. The other gripe I have is that it doesn’t pull searches accurately. I frequently need to search a keyword (or words) to locate an email from the past. In Apple Mail, this is a very simple task: I can watch it auto-populate the results and I type one, two, or more keywords. AirMail unfortunately does not seem to return many results, and definitely not results older than a few months. I archive all of my messages onto our server, so it’s just not communicating either fast enough or at all with the server and retrieving what I’m asking it for. Two seemingly small things, but they are things that I utilize many times a day in my workflow. I’m disappointed that I paid $15 for this (desktop and mobile), because I’ve also had to keep Apple Mail open in the background to run searches. Would recommend to Gmail users and light email users, but definitely not to power users who store their archived mail on their server and need to access it.

Great App, Great Support (3.2.9)
5/23/2017 1:18:28 PM 5/5 By Tombai
I love how Airmail integrates so well with other apps, love the ability to send emails to Apple Calendar, and the “Snooze” feature. Custoer support also does an admirable job—Sarah handled my issue and had great follow-up afterwards to confirm all was working well. Two thumbs up!!

Four-star app, one-star support (3.2.9)
5/22/2017 6:23:21 PM 3/5 By SubliminalBrad
I’ve been using Airmail for a while, but when migrating to a new machine ran into a problem that prevented me from adding my accounts. The only option for product support is their live chat, and they were not even slightly helpful. First person never responded, I got sent to another that asked one basic question and then never responded back. After a couple hours troubleshooting I managed to figure it out by myself.

Great Support (3.2.9)

Airmail has been updating and making improvements with updates. Initially I had some issues with this, which is not uncommon for updates with email clients. Sarah in support was very helpful and my issue was fixed in less than five minutes. Thank you for being responsive!

On May 18th Cultured Code came out with their long awaited Things 3 update. The previous version had been ingetrated into Airmail for years but it hadn’t been updated. Same day of the release I sent Airmail’s customer support an email asking if they could update Things 2 to Things 3 so the new version would work with Airmail. It was done by 7am Monday 22nd. I don’t know how many Airmail clients use Things, but I do, and I’m appreciative for their quick response. Thanks so much.

Good product, great support (3.2.8)
5/22/2017 9:21:51 AM 5/5 By memagik
Good product, faster to clean my inbox than original mail client application, I need fewer clicks to delete, archive or send. A huge number of possible configurations. Great support, easy contact, each and every contact with David, Sarah or Mark has provided the needed information to configure the product the way I like it.

Good email app for a teacher (3.2.8)
5/22/2017 9:06:43 AM 4/5 By Amafortas
Airmail is an effective email app that meets my needs well. As an adjunct professor, I field dozens if not hundreds of emails each week from my students. Airmail manages the deluge well, including the swarm of attachments that show up around finals. As others have remarked, the visual layout is clean and easy to navigate, though I would like an even cleaner interface that aligns with the aesthetics of Safari—a button to show/hide the sidebar would be very handy for instance. A word about support, I’ve seen some notes here that Airmail support is lacking. I have found just the opposite. David, in particular, has offered prompt feedback.

Great email client (3.2.8)
5/21/2017 6:05:39 PM 5/5 By MollyBloom46
I’ve tried a number of OS X / MacOS email clients over the past 5 years, and Airmail is the one that I’ve stayed with. I find it very flexible and reliable, and has most of the features that I need in a client. Support documenation can be sketchy at times, but the web chat support (Thanks, Steven!) has always been able to help me out quickly.

Not great (3.2.7)
5/20/2017 8:46:53 AM 2/5 By LosD!zzle
I have had this application for a year now and there are some nagging issues that affect my everyday (everytime) use when I do email. Since the most recent update/patches, when I open emails, they do not render. They are completely blank. I have to close then reopen and the rendering begins to manifest itself. Not ideal at all. For now I am switching back to Apple Mail, since that is far more reliable. I still like the engine though. To have your email settings set up one time and propogated to all devices using the application is great. If Apple Mail did this I would ditch Airmail. For this reason I’m not all that thrilled that I paid for this application. It started out great then something broke with the update this week and now I’m stuck with something for which I spent money and relegated to two applications. Another item that is of higher concern is that when I send emails, I assume they are actually sent. I found out later that they ended up in the Draft folder with an indicator that says it is “Waiting”. I resend and still, “Waiting”. In its current state, I can’t rely on it as my primary email app…I am glad that it only cost me $10, but it’s $10 wasted. Real bummer...

Best Mail App for Gmail on Mac (3.2.7)
5/19/2017 8:10:36 PM 5/5 By Matthew Corodimas
Once you figure out how to get your email signature to work with a bit of HTML edit, it works like a champ. Works well with Fantastical. Service is good as well. Sarah answered my question fast.

The best email app for a power-user (3.2.7)
5/18/2017 10:07:17 PM 5/5 By 1ambuletproof
Email should not be your todo list. It should not be cumbersome. It shouldn’t be ugly, it shouldn’t take up all your time, and it shouldn’t be stupid. But most email clients are all of these things. Airmail is none of these things. Airmail is how I stay at inbox 0. It’s beautiful, super easy to use and customize, has a native app on all 3 of my platforms (iphone, ipad, mac), and makes plowing through email a breeze. It even integrates with many other apps (such as omnifocus, which IS how you should handle your to-do list). This is one of my favorite and most-used (daily) apps. I would have paid twice as much on ALL platforms for this app. I have tried outlook, gmail/inbox, and even spark (which is very good, but not as good). Airmail is the best email client for me. Oh, and they have lightning-speed, super-helpful support (shoutout to Steven who showed me how to toggle some settings and personalize the app even more)

Great customer service (3.2.7)

I had an issue with icons not displaying properly and Steven from the support staff responded within seconds and had the issued fixed. Awesome.
