Comments and Ratings for djay Pro

12/26/2016 8:30:00 AM 1/5 By NyVaHouse
Im using OS 10.12.2 and have been using DJAY PRO 3 to 4 nights a week as a VJ for the last year. Whenever i start using videos with graphics IT CRASHES!!! I had to find an older version to continue to work. This app has been VERY reliable up until November when the last 2 updates came out. IT MUST BE FIXED ASAP!!!

New Update problems (1.4.2)
12/18/2016 7:26:00 PM 5/5 By dj Skyhigh
I love this program beyond belief. I use it 4 to 7 times a week professionally. I just updated to Sierra and my computer crashes every time I open DJay. I deleted it and reinstalled to the same effect. Now I am spending countless hours trying to find out why.

Awesome (1.4.2)
12/15/2016 3:55:00 AM 5/5 By JZ_86it
I’m lovin this! It’s a very nice program.

No Apple Music (1.4.2)
11/27/2016 8:01:00 PM 4/5 By Hfhfjanf
Seems like an okay app but be aware that it does not sync with your apple music library

Beauiftul design (1.4.2)
11/24/2016 12:55:00 PM 5/5 By Dallas Young
I’ve used nearly every DJ app there is and this one is the easiet to use and most appealing to the eyes. $50 for a beautiful app that also does video DJing is a steal. I look forward to using it every time.

No dont (1.4.1)
11/17/2016 5:26:00 PM 1/5 By John man dude person .... Ya
For the price of this app and the features that come with it this app is horrible, this should be a $20 app at most…. it doesnt even match songs with their correct tunnings, if they want this app to be worth the money they should stop limiting what you can and cannot do so much and make the app more hands on…………..

Garbage (1.3.1)
10/31/2016 9:13:00 PM 1/5 By SAV1003
Spent $50 on this app for nothing! It DOES NOT UPLOAD your iTunes music, even the music saved to your device. The volume does not work on Mac laptops, and there are NO instructions for use. If you want to throw your money away, by all means, get this app. If you want to save yourself $50 then move along. I wouldn’t reccomend this app to anyone. VERY DISATISFIED!

Spotify Integration Lie (1.3.1)
10/21/2016 10:03:00 PM 1/5 By ilovenicknames
This app no longer integrates with Spotify and the product forum is full of people complaining about the lack of functionality and the companies response, or lack there of. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Greap App, but... (1.3.1)
9/27/2016 1:58:00 PM 4/5 By Louie.g
On the spotify part, whenever I try to type the name of a song or artist, it only takes the first letter.. For example, if I’m going to type Avicci, after typing the A, the cursor disappears making me click again on the searchbar to continue with the rest. Other than that, it works wonders. Really cool app.

This app rocks - Great (1.3.1)
8/29/2016 10:15:00 AM 5/5 By KenCarr
Love the latest update - All of the problems I was having were fixed. Awesome APP

(Almost) perfect (1.3.1)
8/15/2016 6:00:00 PM 4/5 By Urhshsvwhwbab
Switched from serato to Djay because it worked better with my sound prefences, and had spotify integration. the spotify is great, with good wi-fi, the integration is seamless. There is one thing that would make DJay the best of the best. Noting that DJay is an Apple Product, it would make a lot more sense to integrate an Apple Music library, instead of the spotify integration. Also, it would be great if offline playlists from Apple Music/Spotify could be used to play a set. In places with little to no cellular service, this option would help out so so much. Please please take this into consideration, otherwise, DJay absolutely kills it. Thanks!

Been using for years (1.3.1)
7/18/2016 4:03:00 AM 4/5 By Peelage
I love this software, I’ve been using it for years and have all of Algoriddim’s products including DJ Remote, which was discontinued and is not compatible with DJ Pro. I wish that they would bring it back as it makes DJing so much easier and allows me to actually do things like go to the bathroom instead of using a catheter for every gig that I do. All and all I like the program, it has been very reliable and made doing events very simplistic with options to satisfy even advanced DJs. Keep the updates coming and maybe bring back the remote app. Thanks!

apple music (1.3.1)

is there any way i can have my apple music come up as well as what i have downloaded in itunes since i don’t use spotify

Does Not Work With Apple Music (1.3.1)
6/24/2016 5:19:00 AM 1/5 By Llavalla01
Warning, If you plan on using Apple Music as your primary music source you cannot use this application, its a phenomenal software but it can only work with Spotify streaming service and music that is directly on your harddrvie….Bummer!

Good, Not Great (1.3.1)
6/15/2016 8:23:00 PM 3/5 By Kaosthirteen
I like the Spotify integration, it makes it easy to play what people want to hear hassle free. I would like to see something along the lines of what Serato offeres with the Bar counter and remix decks. The sampler would be great if it were customizeable also. It would also be a big help if you could drag the song list to the size you wanted. In 4 deck mode you loose a lot of the on screen functionality (when you arent using a controller) because the size of the song list is so tall on the screen. Outside of those minor flaws, it’s the most bang for your buck and that is a big plus. I am sure somewhere down the road this will be one of the best competing DJ software you can buy. I hope the developers listen to all of these reviews and take something that is good, and make it great!

6/5/2016 1:13:00 AM 5/5 By Dj Abesamp
I’ve been loyal to Algoriddim! I’ve been along for the ride since the beginning and have always upgraded. I hesitated this time because I honestly figured I didn’t need to upgrade. The older applications were just as awesome. But (sighs) I’ve paid the $49 and now I am glad I did! So many more toys to play with this go around. Good work!

Good, when it works... (1.3.1)
5/25/2016 9:13:00 PM 3/5 By masterdeeno
I originally used this product with SLATE4 using my own MIDI map. It rocks when it works. I recommend it if you’re just starting, but if you have huge amount of song collection, you will need to think twice as re-cueing songs will take a toll on you. Plus, before you switch or use this as your “alternative system”, make sure that you have a fully compatible MIDI controller, otherwise you are not getting the best out of it. GOOD: - Price - Match recommendation - Soundcard adjustment (either via PC, MAC or controller) - FX bundle - Video support - Apple & Spotify integration BAD: - One time, I had a problem with SYNC function. Example, D1 has 120 and D2 has 64. Instead of 120 going 128, it always go down to 64, which is really bad. I have ticket opened for this, but no solution yet (for almost 6months?). - DDJ SX2 native support is “half-baked”. The FX buttons aren’t really mapped to how they should work. Algoriddim only supports wet/dry functionality for the FX knobs, and that you cannot use them for decks 3 & 4. Crossfader setting, headphone volume, etc are also known not to work. - Cue point (based on ID3 tags) is not supported

Fatal Flaw-Buyer Beware-doesn’t play spotify offline (1.3.1)
5/22/2016 8:08:00 AM 2/5 By deeloverly
Full disclosure: One of the main reasons I choose to purchase this software was because of it’s Spotify interface. I have used Spotify for years now and one of the best features is the available offline option for while you are on the go. Djay Pro does NOT cache the offline songs you will have to rely soley on iTunes if playing away from Wifi. Buyers beware of this flaw before paying the $50 for the app. If you are playing outdoors or in clubs with thick walls and no cell reception (few clubs have wifi) you may want to invest in another product. I looked through all the reviews and seller information before purchasing and no one mentioned anything about this. I figured make a playiist (like always) on Spotify make it available offline and your good to go, WRONG! I hope this helps you with your decision.

Keeps Getting Better. Almost There... (1.3.1)
5/5/2016 5:28:00 AM 5/5 By IpadAddict400
First off, the app is awesome. (Certainly worth buying for anyone on the fence) Keep up the good work! Digging the waveform and beatgrid improvements. Adding the ability to edit the BPM is great. Would be even better if you could edit the Key Signature. (Unfortunately the key detection is still inaccurate about 30% of the time, and it creates a headache when trying to mix in key.) Being able to add a track to Spotify playlists (which act as crates) is really helpful…Again, would be even better if you could do the same with iTunes. Also being able to add comments to your track right in the app would be huge. Overall, Djay Pro has been an excellent experience and I highly reccomend it. Looking forward to upcoming versions!

ABOUT TIME!! (1.3)
4/30/2016 7:29:00 PM 5/5 By chrispolite
This version seems to tighten the proverbial screws on this program. The spotify bugs and random glitches during playback, prevented this from being a go to DJ program for a professional. Looks like Algoriddim is back on track. The interface is better than any other DJ program out there. Im glad i can finally give this 5 stars with this update

Hands Down, Best DJ App! But NEEDS Apple Music!!! (1.2.1)
4/21/2016 7:44:00 AM 5/5 By Chr15t!an
I really like the overall simple and clear User Interface across the entire app’s layout. Gets the job done and them some, but it really will be the top dog if Algoriddm supports Apple Music. Apple Music has become a centerpoint for where I get ideas for mixing new music. Adding Apple Music to Djay Pro will answer so many other’s requests for Apple Music as well. Thank you for reading this review, and I hope that Apple Music Integration can be considered in the next update or two! Thank you again! - Ion-X (Music Artist)

Liked it when it worked. Right now I am not liking it. (1.2.1)
4/19/2016 11:14:00 PM 2/5 By B150
Please fix. Currently unable to use the Match feature. Very unreliable "unexpected response from Spotify" Please Fix asap. I would not recommend this until it is fixed. On my Ipad I get error when trying to load on IDjay pro.

No sound from the recorded video on the app itself (1.2.1)
4/6/2016 9:00:00 PM 1/5 By Erwinglewingle
Just an update, during my gig a while ago, the app froze and no other choice but to do a hard restart. it was embarrassing iy you are doing a live gig :-( hope we get solution tho this… still hopeful that this app will go a long long way… Please,do something :-( _________ I was able to do some video recordings on djay pro 1.2.1 and using external players (Mplayer and Quicktime), the videos play well but when I cue and play them on Djay Pro, there is no sound coming out. What seems to be the problem? Thanks & hope to hear from you soon

I want my money back (1.2.1)
4/2/2016 5:39:00 AM 1/5 By Mero Poison
I want my money back, this app does not support what i was looking for.

Not working (1.2.1)
3/12/2016 1:43:00 AM 3/5 By best djay!!!
The sync buttion is not working on my pioneer ddj-SR fix pls!!!! It works when I turn on serato!!! but not when I use this!!!

Excellent Upgrade From djay. (0)
12/21/2015 1:01:00 AM 5/5 By radioedm
I’ve used djay since 2013 after I got tired of Serato crashing during live performances, I finally decided to upgrade to djay Pro after testing it and reading many reviews. Pros: Almost every feature that Serato has, plus a cleaner and more polished UI. I have never had it crash or even slow down a touch on either of the devices I have used it on (2013 MacBook Air 11” and 2015 MacBook Pro Retina 13”) You can analyze your BPM and key of the songs before you load them onto the decks Support for all Pioneer controllers, mixers and CDJ/XDJs Cons: Slip mode does not work. If you’re in the market for new djing software, this is the software for you.

Can’t use it if it doesn’t work (0)
12/14/2015 5:13:00 PM 1/5 By The Real Just Jeff
Purchased this for my brand new Mac Book Pro for $49.95. Loved the Spotify option and the layout, it resembled the ipad Dj Pro which i use all the time and love It. This one however is unreliable, unstable and not for the professional Dj work I do. This program has shut the Mac down several times, the music stutters occasionally and sometimes it just freezes. No way can I trust this app during a gig. I have trouble shot this with Apple for over 2 hours only for Apple to tell me it’s the app and not the computer, (Thankful for that !) I have had to resort to my other DJ programs and havent had any problems with them. Sent e-mails to customer support, they do respond back but forget about any timely solutions or speedy replies back. Seriously dissapointed in this program that has so much to offer. Bottom line for the one star, If I can’t play it for my gigs it’s useless. Save your money, $50 is 39 Itune songs

djay sampler (0)
11/21/2015 2:08:00 AM 5/5 By zeko rula
this sampler space is nice but you all need to make more sampler spce on the app andtry for a newer look on the controller and more advance were you can put songs in folder thats already in the playlist

No option to select 45 to 33 for turntablists (0)
11/15/2015 7:45:00 PM 3/5 By Average joe 808
I like it only because of the spotify connection. Most turntablist will not like the fact that it doesn't have the option to switch between 45 and 33 in the options. Most controller DJs will not care about this, but turntablists will once they figure that problem out. DJay Pro doesn't have any plans to update this problem. Simple test, place your finger on your controller and one complete revolution doesn't land back on the next beat. You would think they would have this option just like Serato or Traktor. Other than that it is a great backup app, but wouldn't use it for any big event...
