By Apple (Apple Inc.)

FaceTime for Mac makes it easy to talk, smile and laugh with friends and family on their iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPod touch or Mac. Getting started is quick and easy — simply enter your Apple ID and you're ready to go. Whether you're talking to someone on an iPhone or on another Mac, video calls with FaceTime look great. There's no better way to keep all your favorite faces just a click away.

Simple to Get Started
• Setup is quick and easy – just enter your Apple ID.
• With just one click, you can make a video call to an iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPod touch, or another Mac.

Easy-to-Organize Contacts
• Make calls using your existing Address Book contacts – you don’t have to enter your contacts from scratch.
• Add the people you call most often to your Favorites list.
• Quickly review your past calls with Recents.

High-Definition Video
• Receive HD video calls at up to 720p on supported, Intel-based Macs.*
• A Mac with a standard-definition camera delivers up to VGA-quality video for Mac-to-Mac calls.

Elegant Interface
• Window and playback controls fade away so the focus stays on your conversation.
• View transitions smoothly when an iPhone 4, iPad 2, or iPod touch user switches from front to rear cameras or from portrait to landscape views.
• FaceTime's widescreen aspect ratio makes it easy for families and groups to participate in a call.
• Enjoy your video call full screen, using every inch of your beautiful Mac display.

Ring Anywhere, Any Time
• Incoming calls ring on your Mac, even if FaceTime isn’t running.
• If you have more than one Mac, incoming calls ring on every one so you can answer on the Mac that’s most convenient.

*Video calls require a built-in FaceTime camera, an iSight camera (built-in or external), a USB video class (UVC) camera, or a FireWire DV camcorder; and a 128-Kbps upstream and downstream Internet connection. Making HD video calls requires a built-in FaceTime HD camera and a 1-Mbps upstream and downstream Internet connection. Receiving HD video calls requires a supported Intel-based Mac. Comments and Ratings for FaceTime

12/26/2016 4:15:00 PM 2/5 By It's a really good app!
The compatibility information is absolutely a lie, it says that it works with 10.6.6 or later, and I am running 10.6.8 and it doesn't work. I know is only one dollar, but it is still miss leading infomation. were is their credibility? need to be carefull and maybe not trust there information....... Glad it is just a dollar!!!!!!!!

C’mon Apple, get your act together (1.0.5)

Mac OS Sierra too “new” for FaceTime? Come on, Apple, make sure at least your apps are ready for the latest OS. Please update FaceTime ASAP. Thank you.

Are you serious? C’mon Apple! (1.0.5)

I have a useless facetime camera because the version of Apple OSX is TOO NEW??? And a similar comment and concern has been posted since March 2016, and yet I’m still getting the same error now??? C’Mon Apple, get your sh*t together!

Now this is interesting ˜ I attempted to install FaceTime, on OS X 10.10.5, and received the following message: “FaceTime can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because the version of OS X is too new.”

Why was this ever an app that users had to pay for (1.0.5)

FaceTime should have always been a free app. Just want to make sure that users DO NOT download this as it now ships for free with the latest OS. I really wish this app would disappear from the app store.

really annoying (1.0.5)

This app doesn’t works as expected. I’m a frecuent user in my Ipad or my Ipod, so i really want to use it in my MacBook too, but i can’t beacuse this app always has an error with delay and freeze the video streaming. Now I made the update to the new iOS The Captain and the update of Facetime says that my iOS is too new. WTH!! Please, for loyal users of Mac, you must do something about this App ASAP.

This app was on my mac book before the update (1.0.5)

It Just Works (REALLY, IT JUST WORKS!) (1.0.5)

I’ve been using FaceTime almost daily now for quite a long time, both audio and video (and switching from audio to video). It even seems to connects more quickly than my reqular cell and has been dead simple to use. My roommate, who is legally blind (with almost no sight) is able to use it to connect with me when I’m shopping or wherever. He has had NO problems using it, which to me, is sort my usage test for an application. That’s NOT to say he isn't smart (which he is), but with his sight limitations, FaceTime has proven to be a literal "God-Send”. I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA why these other people are having the problems that they do. I don’t think my rommmate and I are computer “geniuses” is the least. And my roommate is by no means an "Apple Fan Boy” (he’s probably just the opposite), but we use FaceTime anyway since it’s the best method we’ve found to easily communicate when I’m out shopping or if something is gong on medically with him. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
