I could set the cue ball but no instructions to tell you what keys to use to get the cue stick to come up to take the shot

Ok game, terrible gfx (2.1)

On Mac Air, cannot tell solids from stripes.

A fun game, although in single-player mode, any ball(s) sunk on the opening break are not credited to the shooter. Also, when playing againmst the computer, the ‘opponent’ has pretty minimal skills: it’s designed to let you win.

horrible game (2.1)

the game runs well but it is way too easy. i couldn’t adjust the soin on the cue ball or adjust the difficulty of the game.

Best computer pool game I have ever seen (2.1)

I really enjoy playing this pool game. Excellent. I mean it’s really, really good.

For a free game it is worth the download. (2.1)

For a free game it is worth the download, but this game would drasticly improve from being able to put english on the cue.

not bad (2.1)

OK for a free version. Needs a win/loss score keeping ability. Full screen option unworkable, expands so large only half the table is on screen.

This is my favorite game in real life and in the gaming world honestly i havnt lost yet and im not sure are we playing against other players or just a regular computer if it is a computer its a bit easy for me and it seems like the computer is letting me win but overall it is addicting and fun and yes i would recommend this to others.

Awsome Pool game! (2.1)
3/13/2016 6:04:00 PM 5/5 By Rubyfish
This game plays very realistic. I don't know what game one of the other reviewers was playing when they said the "AI" (computer) cheats by takeing extra turns and not giving them the correct number of shots? I think they don't know how to play pool because this game was spot-on! When I played, I broke and didn't get balls in, so during the AI's turn they got a "solid" in and shot again but missed. They did not take any extra turns. Next during my turn, I shot at one of my "strips" and got it in, then shot again and missed. Then the AI shot but didn't have anything good to hit and missed, then it was my turn … etc. Both my shots and the AI's shots were VERY REALISTIC. And the ball banking, angling, rolling and striking were VERY REALISTIC. I have played "8-ball, last pocket" pool for a long, long time, and when I played this game - it made me feel just like I was in a pool hall playing a real game. Excellent!!!

For FREE, it is an excellent value! (2.1)

Just got through with my first full game. The graphics and the physics are very good! No help, and no score keeping, but it’s 8 Ball. The table tells it all. In 8 Ball, the player to get the first ball in determines stripes or solids. If you drop a striped ball, you are stripes. If you drop a solid ball, you are solids. If the computer drops one first, whatever he got, you are the opposite. On your turn, you must hit one of your balls first, but you can choose any ball to get in the pocket. Once all your balls are cleared, you must then make the 8 ball. You’ll have to call your pocket for the 8 ball. A lot of people in different regions play 8 Ball a little differently, but the differences are usually minor rule changes. For that reason, my short appraisal may have missed a rule or two. But all in all, it plays well. Use your right mouse button held down to adjust your aim. Aim can be fine tuned by the clockwise and counter-clockwise arrow buttons. Adjust the power with the meter on both the left and right. Shoot by pressing the Shoot button. Enjoy!

Freezes every once in a while during break (2.1)
1/2/2016 5:58:00 PM 3/5 By Tom Swift
It’s a nice little game, but it freezes every once in a while. At first I thought it was the fault of my old mid-2007 MacBook (Lion), but last week I got a 2015 MacBook Air (El Capitan) and redownloaded the game from my App Store account. Seems the problem still exists. But a Force-Quit solves it every time...

Addicting! (2.1)
12/28/2015 3:22:00 PM 5/5 By crazy4paisley
Love this game! Some of the other people that commented about their losses need to read what the rules are! I don’t have any issues with “cheating” while playing the game.

Problem with El Capitan (2.1)

The program use to run great on Yosemite but the game can no longer be maximized on without losing half the screen.

It’s okay. (2.1)

Could use some music.

It’s Too Easy! (2.1)
8/24/2015 11:17:00 PM 3/5 By astreiber
While fun, this game is way too easy. I’m no pool shark in real life, but when I play this game, I’ve never once lost. I’m actually starting to find it impossible to even lose.

I love games I can win. As long as your expectations are that you would like a light, easy game, then this one is for you. It has a strange ai, maybe little or none, but that’s why I like it. If you are looking for competition, you will need to play a real friend. If you want a light fun game, play the computer.

4/11/2015 3:21:00 AM 3/5 By Creepologist
This game would be much better if we could play it in landscape, and have a full-screen mode. Also, to be able to re-call your pocket after lining up your shots would be nice.

inconsistent scoring (2.1)
3/12/2015 6:05:00 AM 2/5 By Xyzxrok
seems the maker of this app wants to win all the time; does this with others in the series as well; no indication of how scoring is done; computer seems to take turns whenever it wants; computer shots are often nonsensical, make no sense as to purpose….going across the board without reason. Needs a “cleanup” and transparency. Glad I did’t pay for it. update, 03 2015 I recently began selecting two players This appears to take the game away from the control of the geek/computer design and allows for a more consistent game, fewer bungles, scoring is more obvious, doesnt take advantage of player one way the one player choice does. Thus far, this seems to improve my enjoyment of the game.

Could be fun. (2.1)
3/10/2015 9:19:00 PM 2/5 By Itsallgood12
Half of the time when full shot is applied the ball barely moves, yet for the computer it works fine. Could be fun if it worked properly.

Okay, so my first thought was "this game is awesome!" Alright, something else. I don't know much about pool, but I know enough to know that the game is cheating a little. How do i know? well, i know that if you get the black ball into a pocket before all the other balls are in the pockets, you lose. But the computer got the black ball in the pocket and at least 5 balls were remaining, yet the computer won. (The computer's name is player 2, so that's what we'll call it) Another thing. I know that if you shoot a ball into a pocket, you get an extra turn well it seems as if every time i get a ball in a pocket, I don't get another turn. Yet when player 2 gets a ball into a pocket, it gets at least 3 extra turns. i don't get it. Would I recommend this game? Maybe. Is this game fun and addictive, besides all the cheating? Absoloutly. Am i going to keep this game? Yes, or at least until the cheating gets annoying. Thanks for reading my review. (Oh, one last thing: I wish there was a "help" button to this game, because i had to look up how to play pool on the internet in order to win the game.)

AI is stupidly easy…..

2/24/2015 4:24:00 AM 2/5 By TICKED OFF WITH THE PROGRAMMER
At first this was a good game and then after I got good at it and played enough games that I won, the computer cheats to win. It will steal the solids I am shooting just so it could win the game. The more I win the more it cheats! The shots that would go into the side pockets don’t line up for us but it does for the computer. There were shots the computer made into the side pocket that in no way possible would anyone be able to make a shot like that. Another thing it does is use the 8 ball or one of my balls to shoot the computer’s ball into the pocket. THAT IS CHEATING AND THE COMPUTER CHEATS AS MUCH AS IT CAN BECAUSE THE COMPUTER PROGRAMMER IN HIS/HER WARPED SENSE OF COMPETITION SEEMS TO THINK THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GIVE AN APPONENT COMPETITION, SO THE PROGRAMMER BUILT IN A CHEATING MECHANISM INTO THE SOFTWARE TO CHEAT US OUT OF WINNING. CHEAT/CHEAT/CHEAT/CHEAT/CHEAT…………………………………………………………………………………………………..CHEAT/CHEAT/CHEAT/CHEATER

Stupid AI (2.1)
11/6/2014 9:41:00 PM 4/5 By MarcJS___
You know what I love this game, but I’ve played it too much to notice some flaws that I would love to point out. Firstly, there should be a level of toughness option, because the AI is just not programmed to win or be competitive. If you do a couple of bad shots, the AI just starts to play really bad, hitting stupid shots and stuff. Try scoring all the shots for the AI and it will start play really bad. And I noticed when the AI has a chance to win sometimes, they just blow it, doing something stupid. Please put a hardness setting to it, would love to play a tougher opponent. but overall this game is great to pass time, thanks for making it!

Pros: - Looks nice. - Basic sound effects - Directional lines - Fast Cons: - Computer plays poorly - Rules are not listed - Actions are not explained. - Controls can be confusing.

Pool Review (2.1)
9/24/2014 6:39:00 AM 4/5 By Saintisidore
I enjoy the game… However there are a few things I would like to see that could improve the game play immensely. First I would love to be able to put english on the cue to avoid an obvious scratch on some shots. Second, I have a played enough times to have gotten a few 8 ball breaks. This should mean a win for me. Instead I have to shoot again and get a loss regardless of whether I sink a ball or not. I will still play the game but for me it would be more fun with a fix for these issues. I rate it four out of five and think it could be a five out of five.

Wheres The Sound ? (2.1)

Simple, fun. Not hard to beat (2.1)

If you like a relaxing, yet fun game that is not hard to beat, then this is the game for you. Love it! This is not a hard game. But it’s wonderfully relaxing. I play it all the time.

Pool! has been hands down my favorite video game. Graphics are smooth, no jitters, accurate shooting… I’m very critical of the games I try but I’ve got nothing negative to say about Pool! Great job team! —The Savage
