Comments and Ratings for QuickBooks

not much of an app (2.4.8)
6/7/2017 9:39:49 PM 2/5 By LLEH52
pretty just the web application wrapped in an app. the app makes be sign-in all the time (and urges me to download the app "Next time, skip this sign-in”…LOL I’m using the app, and wishing I could skip the sign-in)

Keeps asking me to sign in (2.4.7)
5/25/2017 1:39:02 PM 5/5 By Luke684
This has been a persistent problem for over a year; please fix. Everytime I open the app it shows me a can’t load page. I hit refresh and it does the same thing 3-4 times until it finally just asks for my password again and then it works.

good once you learn how to use (2.4.7)
5/25/2017 6:51:12 AM 4/5 By Willgrowturf
Once you learn how to manuver your way around the quickbooks its a good product.

Title says organize everything in one pleace….. (2.4.7)
5/17/2017 10:49:06 AM 1/5 By JPrecisionTint
This app is far from organized. Yes certain things might work, but it may as well be easier to do this with pen and paper. The fact that I cant even write out bills free of issues baffles me. I have tons of items in my product list, but when I go to input a bill its asking me to set up an item when I cleary have the items in the product list. I know this is on the Mac, but everything should sync via all devices… When I go to view past bills from vendors on my iphone or iPad, nothing is current. I want to see a report from this year not last year, just as I have selected to view. Intead of focusing on adding “Extra Features” you should focus on perfecting the app that we are currently using. It makes no sense to me that you waste time and money on implementing features to simplify our book keeping and accounting needs, when it is far from simplified.. Time is money and you are wasting both on the account of all of your users and employees. It is hard to have faith in this software, and the accuracy of my finances..

Igaso (2.4.7)
5/10/2017 12:30:53 PM 3/5 By Igaso
I have using the online version, it works ok. They need to work on the custom report, It is no good. I could not be able to change it as I wanted. Complicated, it is primitive programing. It is confusing, and does not work as they say. The nonprofit setup desnot work as they say. If I can customize by myself that will be helpful. Pay roll still is too expensive for companies with one to five employees. The app is good overall.

Functional but slow (2.4.7)
5/10/2017 11:03:22 AM 3/5 By listen to wind
Agree with earlier review — QB Desktop was fast and stored locally. This app is a little better than the web version, but has the same need to reload every time I switch to another view. Click, wait. Click, wait. It’s not the best experience, especially when most of the data is static. What I like is having invoices, online payments, banking, Paypal transactions, and payroll automatically integrated. I just wish more could be done offline.

Fails out of the box (2.4.7)
4/26/2017 10:12:13 PM 1/5 By TB Developers
Fresh install fails without even getting to a login screen. Unbelievable. Do they even test it before releasing??? Oh. Now it just keeps cycling through the login window. Tries to start and then kicks you back to a sign in. POS. It is just a wrapper for their website.

Not-so-quick Books (2.4.7)
4/25/2017 6:36:42 PM 3/5 By MistahLe
Pros - good features for small business. Auto-sync is a huge timesaver. Cons - I have had it QB hanging at the login screen using the app. I’ve had to go to the web browser to log in instead even though QB promotes it as the faster way. The autofill option is not smart enough. It changes all transactions of similar titles while it should have changed only the EXACT title.

awful and not intuitive at all (2.4.7)
4/17/2017 4:53:47 PM 1/5 By Amc22319
Intuit makes quickbboks and Turbo tax…. BUTH THEY DONT WORK TOGETHER, NOT COMPATIBILE AT ALL. what a bunch of idiots, just stealing monry from people.

Very glitchy, extremely limited considering the price (2.4.7)
4/16/2017 10:29:58 PM 2/5 By Abecedarian22
For an app subscription that costs $600 a year, I expect a nearly flawless program that is continually improving. Instead I’m constantly cludging together solutions and coming up with workarounds to compensate for the consistently buggy nature of this program. The program regularly throws errors, works slowly and lacks basic functionality that the desktop version I used before supported without issue. I’m only currently sticking with the service until I find the time to transfer to an alternative.

Not reliable... (2.4.7)
4/16/2017 12:20:10 PM 1/5 By QB_Trans
Glitchy app. Wasted money! Only 2 of 7 categories produce data on the home screen and they are (Home & Reports). The other 5 categories (Vendors, Employees, Transactions & Sales Tax) are dummy buttons. In the past (2015) if you were to click on those buttons you would get a list of your Vendors, Employees, Transactions would show your Banking, Sales, Expenses, Chart of Accounts details). Fast forward to today, whenever I click on those buttons I get a blank screen. All of my Vendors & Customers have disappeared. This appp has been useless and so has Customer Service.

Buggy! (2.4.7)
4/12/2017 11:08:31 AM 3/5 By Campr4life
Been using this for a while, I dont like the constant changes. It appears to be getting worse not better. Its very buggy or glitchy. Often the sign in screen appears asking me to re sign in even though I continually select remember me. When I do sign in it wont load, just continually cycles. Ive found if I go to select company and choose a different one after signing in , then go back to my company, it will then load and pull up the home screen. So weird and annoying. Other glithces are thing like double loading. Example: I will go to the plus button and recieve a payment, it goes back to the home screen or refreshes, I do it again, and it works. I also dont see a recent history like there used to be.

Updated** No longer works. (2.4.7)
4/10/2017 4:30:05 PM 1/5 By bfunzone
Quickbooks online is great. The app, though, has some minor problems. One of which can be a problem - sign in page gets caught in a loop telling me to sign in but goes to “there was a problem loading this page” before I can get my sign in name typed in. It then gets caught in a two second cycle of going back and forth between the sign in page and the “problem” page. There are other glitches that I have learned to accept. Get this going smoothly and it is 5 star. Update: The app no longer works on my mac. It gets stuck in the cycle and does not recover.

buggy and slow (2.4.7)
4/9/2017 11:59:53 AM 3/5 By laptop_lizard
If you enjoy flickering, white screens, hangs, sluggish response times and links that don’t work, then this could be the app for you. But if you’re trying to do small business bookkeeping, avoid this “app” like it will give your Mac herpes. The only advice given by support is to “reset” the app. Sometimes that will help for a while, but usually doesn’t have any affect at all.

Ok I guess (2.4.7)
4/6/2017 7:50:01 AM 4/5 By Bad7pig
We switched all over from MAC to QB online. Using the app Some things are better, some are not. Some issues of syncing between users. Slow engine. At least they are constantly trying to improve it and hopefully taking our feedback seriously.

Glitchy (2.4.7)
4/5/2017 10:12:34 AM 1/5 By whyowhyoholic
You must use the online version as the app for Mac Sierra doesn’t work reliably.

Still does not work... (2.4.7)
3/25/2017 8:50:12 AM 1/5 By Kris1883
This app continues to get worse with every release. Can’t do the most simple tasks without bugs showing up daily. The latetst for me, when entering a new customer it will not allow me to choose default payment type or default payment terms. The customer window must be closed and saved first, then, use the edit function to go back and choose those options again. When creating a new invoice and adding line items, you can’t tab to create a new line item, but using tab to create new line item in expenses works fine. Whenever I reach out to Intuit or the community it never fails, I get canned answers and the problems never get fixed. Tired of large companys that continue to float because they have the power of massive cash flow...

Pain in the hinny (2.4.7)
3/15/2017 2:25:05 PM 2/5 By montana sue
I’m back to using the online version, which I pay a ton for but at least it works as promised, remembers my sine in info and my settings. I wish I could get rid of the misleading and stupid request that I download the app as I have, I’ve fought with it for several months and it stinks. I lost infor in the download, it remembers nothing about me, my settings, etc and wastes too much time. Intuit, I have been with you for many, many years and have never been so disappointed in a product than this. Please fix it or forget it!

CONSTANT ISSUE (2.4.7)
3/12/2017 4:46:37 PM 1/5 By Chadwick55
This app drives me staff and I crazy. Constantly crashing and many times causes us to loose the data we were working on! It’s been about a year and a half and it has not improved. If I had options I would take them! This shoud be a 5 star app if it wasn’t for the glitchy as all get out platform it runs on. Unless you already invested in Quickbooks I would try something else.

Its a good start, needs a lot of improvement (2.4.7)
2/25/2017 12:53:26 PM 1/5 By Bleumr2
I’ve been using quickbooks for years and I’m shocked at how badly it performs on a Mac. It’s so bad, they shouldn’t even sell it (and they sell it for the same price as a PC). Customer service suggested I buy a PC in order to use quickbooks properly…just to give you an idea. You can’t search sales by location, Name Address field is non-existent (makes it difficult for local taxes and licenses), crashes, freezes, etc. It’s a scam to sell this product on a platform that doesn’t support it. The online version (thru the browser) is decent and the app on the phone is ok. App for a mac or even the full software on a mac is a joke. As they suggested, either use exclusively on your phone or buy a PC in order to use their software.

Quickbooks Online - “Where Functionality Doesn’t Matter" (2.4.7)
2/23/2017 6:35:14 PM 1/5 By Messi Productions
We are a small company, with 5 employees making quotes. We were using Xero but decided to switch over QBO because we felt Xero was limited with it’s reporting and some of it’s functions. I had been using Quickbooks for Mac prior to Xero. I’m not sure what happened between QB for Mac and QBO but Intuit really dropped the ball on the funcationality of the online version. Here’s a short list of reasons why we’re banging our heads against the wall everytime we use QBO (this applies to this app, since the app is just a simplified browser window): - Freezes - this happens multiple times during each session when trying to load a page or hit “save”, the window freezes and you lose everything you just worked on. - No Markup - You can’t see your markup on estimates…kind of a big deal if your accounting software can’t tell you if you’re going to make or lose money…Quickbooks for Mac/Desktop has this feature - Custom Layouts - You can make custom layouts for printing - problem is when you save your new designs it doesn’t actually save them properly or at all so they still look wrong - Layers - you have to click through layers of pages to work on existing quotes, purchase orders, invoices etc. This is rediculous when we have 50 purchase orders we’re working on and each time we need to add items to one we have to cycle through pages to get to the vendor PO’s again. Add’s lots of unnecessary time to our work flow - Item Updates - you can’t update an item from a quote/invoice/PO page. We like to keep our pricing updated and when we’re building quotes we put in an item and realize the price is no longer accurate so we need to change the price in the system. Instead of having the ability to go to the item page directly, you have to leave the quote, cycle through some pages and then search for the item, open it, change the price, save it, cycle back to the quotes, search for the one you want, and open two more pages to get back. - Unwanted Logging Out - If you have multiple tabs open, say, to work on a quote and have another tab open to update items, it will randomly log you out on one of the tabs - Updates Don’t take Effect - If you are working on a quote and update an item in another tab/window, the newly updated item will appear on the quote when you type it in however it will bring in all the old information. If you refresh the page it still won’t update. It will however update product once you leave the quote and re-open it. This is a royal pain to have to save and close a quote everytime you make an item change. - The Good - QBO has a clean, simple user interface, many third party apps integrate with it.

Great for Small Business (2.4.7)
2/19/2017 4:42:09 PM 5/5 By Redsfan321
I am able to write estimates, send invoices, reciepts, and collect payments with ease!

Poor reliability (2.4.7)
2/17/2017 10:55:09 AM 3/5 By jm.FCG
This app is buggy. When opening, several windows will open asking for the password which should automatically login. Many buttons don’t work at various times and I need to switch to the web version to get things done. I would love this app if it was more reliable. Since it’s a business app, reliability is pretty crucial and it a major detriment to this app.

Owner (2.4.7)
2/10/2017 12:27:33 PM 1/5 By trsbill
It has flaws, will not allow me to open the customer or vendor tabs on the left side of the screen

Finally has the features needed. (2.4.7)
2/5/2017 2:19:00 PM 5/5 By EmrysR
This app has become the hub of my businss. The features were a bit limited when I first subscribed a couple years ago, but they have a lot of improvements. The mobile especially has become more useful with the receipt logging alone.

Disapointed Mac user (2.4.7)
1/27/2017 10:18:00 AM 2/5 By Paralands
I have purchased & used several Quick Books for Mac desktop versions over the past 10 years. In February of 2016, I upgraded to QB ’16 Mac desktop. Less than 2- months later I received an email from Quick Books informing me that Intuit payment system , for accepting online customer payments, was going to be shut down at the end of May ’16 . I made many calls to the QB customer support and the Mac tech support people to find out why, & what my options were so that I could continue to receive online payments. Their only solutions were to force me into switching to the online QB subscription version or purchase the Windows desktop version & run it thru Parallels. I tried to find a way to use another online payment service, that I could integrate into my QB customer invoice, but that proved to be far to complicated for both the customers & for my payment entry. I finally relented & switched to QB online, in January ’17. I am highly dissapointed with the very limited ability to customize the invoice format . Many of the functions of the desktop version are not available with the online version. This is definitely NOT an improved upgrade ! Quick Books has really dropped the ball when it comes to the Mac users.

I save so much time... (2.4.7)
1/22/2017 4:31:00 AM 5/5 By Kiddiecoder
I literally have saved about 40 hours of work this Quarter syncing my bank accounts. I was using Desktop and entering everything manually. What a waste. There was one problem - when I attempted to import a csv file, it was a disaster. I figured out how to do it after about an hour of screwing around. Other than that I have not had any issues or found any glitches.

Horrible Mac App (2.4.7)
1/16/2017 9:54:00 AM 1/5 By Pragobunga
The service itself I’m happy with, but can’t beleive they even call this an app. It is 100% the same as going to the website through your browerser, with LESS FUNCTIONALITY. The app doesn’t even remember your login and password (I can save in in my browser and not have to type it each time). And you also have to resize the window to what you like each time as well. I don’t even know whey they even tried with this app, they clearly put ZERO effort into it and just ported over the website. It’s not worth taking up the little space this used on your HD when you can use your browser for better functionality. The description says that the app will at least load faster than the browser, but that itsn’t even true.

Barely usable (2.4.7)
1/13/2017 11:17:00 AM 1/5 By scar1900
Buggy, slow, apt to crash. Like the service…when it works. Basically just a shell for the website. Please fix this Quickbooks.

Its the Customer Service!! (2.4.7)
12/22/2016 8:11:00 PM 5/5 By Damon Burian
Such a great customer service experience, if you ever have that small issue to that HUGE 3 hour backtrack-and-do-it-right-the-second-time issue, trust that QuickBooks has you covered with some of the nicest service reps!
