By DIRE Studio (DIRE Studio Kft.)

*** The original and only Mac shutter count reader that works with all new Canons ***

ShutterCount displays the number of shutter actuations (the shutter count) of your Canon EOS, Nikon or Pentax digital camera - see the complete list of supported models below. The shutter count is read directly from a USB or Wi-Fi connected Canon EOS DSLR, and from image files for Nikon and Pentax cameras.

With ShutterCount you can easily check whether a newly purchased camera is really new, or check how heavily used a pre-owned item is. And you can save a trip to a service center by doing the reading for yourself.

ShutterCount provides unlimited readings for your cameras.

The app displays the count for still photos by default - purchase the optional Live View Pack to get additional counters that also cover videos. The Live View Pack is available as an in-app purchase for select Canon models.

History logging allows you to track camera usage. Logs are stored in CSV format that can be imported into Apple's Numbers or Microsoft Excel for further processing.

The optional Plus Pack enables additional features: shutter count graphing & forecasting, history log duplicate removal, camera date/time synchronization (Canon only) and outdated firmware version warning (Canon only). The Plus Pack is available as an in-app purchase.

Note: for the best compatibility with your camera it is recommended to upgrade the camera's firmware to the latest available version.

Certified cameras (with live view counters):
• Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 5D Mark IV, 5DS, 5DS R, 6D, 6D Mark II, 7D, 7D Mark II, 70D, 77D, 80D, 100D, 200D, 750D, 760D, 800D, 1200D, 8000D, 9000D; Kiss X7, X8i, X9, X9i, X70; Rebel SL1, SL2, T5, T6i, T6s, T7i.

Comments and Ratings for ShutterCount

Canon 7D Mark ii Owner (1.4)
2/4/2017 11:42:00 AM 5/5 By Ryan 7D L
Simple. Cheap. Works Flawlessly. I couldn’t find a way to get the shutter count on my Canon 7D Mark ii. I found this by luck and saw the reviews. Purchased and used 10 seconds later I had my count. I took a few pictures and then reopened the program again and sure enough it had updated the count. This is legit and works. Thank you!

Does not work on Canon 5DMK4 (1.4)

It worked fine on older cameras like 5d3 , but does not support 5d4 . It would be great if there are updates provided to this APP to support newer cameras

Totally Worth the Money! (1.4)

Works great on 40D (even though it isn’t listed in the description), 70D and 6D.

Works for all 3 of my Canons (1.4)

Gave me an accurate count on a 7D, an XSI (450D) and an SL1. Nothing else I could find would do it. Not the fanciest thing i’ve ever seen but it WORKS and keeps a record so you can track the use of all your cameras. Better yet, there is NO LIMIT to the number of cameras you can check, bring it with you when shopping used and know exactly how well used that bargain camera may really be. An easy five star rating.

Worked for a Canon 7D Mark II (1.4)

I wanted to get the shutter count on my camera and this was the only site I could find. Lots of good reviews, so I thought for $2.99 that wasn’t a bad deal. I downloaded the app and it pulled up the info on my camera right away. Well, you might have to cycle the camera on and off but that was it. Just make sure you check and make sure your camera is listed and you shouldn’t have any issues. Thanks ShutterCount!!! David L

Make sure WIFI is Disabled on your Canon 70D (1.4)
1/7/2017 3:45:00 PM 5/5 By TDonati
Works great, but...At first, I forgot that all USB connections are disabled when wifi is Enabled. The app said “No Camera Detected”. I disabled wifi, cycled the power on my 70D, and then POOF, the app gave me my shutter count.

No Canon 5D Mark IV support (1.4)

Works fine with my 5D Mark II but not with 5D Mark IV.

YES!!! Such a great little app! (1.4)

I spent HOURS trying to get the shutter count for a 5D mark iii and none of the other utilities worked. The info is not in the EXIF for photos. Most of the utilities mentioned in forums don't seem to exist anymore. And then EOScount, which looked promising, didn't even see the camera. Finally I found this app and it works great and is simple. Also a great value at $2.99 since you can use it as many times as you want on as many cameras as you want (it even keeps a history for you). EOSCount costs $1.50 per use - that is, if it worked it would. Thanks for making this app! I only wish it was the top result on google.

well worth $3 (1.4)

fast and easy! worked great for my 5d mark ii and 7d

Great for multiple uses and multiple cameras (1.4)

This app worked great to check the shutter count on my Canon 5d Mark II and Mark III. I previously used another app that was only good for one camera and one reading so I really appreciate that this app can be used more than once. I bought my camera used and wanted to confirm the reading that the seller listed and this reading confirmed that it was. Great app!
