When you start using Things, you’ll be surprised how easy it is to enter and manage your tasks. And with Things’ beautiful interface, task management becomes a delight. But all of this doesn’t come at the expense of power—everything you wish for in a task manager, Things has you covered.

• Today: Decide which tasks you want to do today and put them into your Today list. Throughout the day, come back to this list to check items off. Things will automatically show you due and scheduled items there once their date arrives - so you won’t miss anything important.

• Focus: See what you need to do Today, what’s coming up Next, and what’s Scheduled for later. Put tasks in Someday if you can’t work on them right now, you can always come back to them later.

• Keep organized: Work, Family, Hobby - with Things, everything has its place. Projects and Areas of Responsibility let you master complex tasks and stay on top of your responsibilities in life and work.

• Use Tags to assign contexts, priorities, time – whatever fits your personal workflow. Quickly filter a list to find those tasks which are most relevant now.

• Out of your head, into Things: Enter new ideas the moment they hit you. Adding to-dos is always just a tap away.

• And much more: Create repeating tasks, add due dates, schedule tasks for a later date, review completed tasks in the Logbook, etc.

Things for iPad includes new Slide Over & Split View multi-tasking support; new keyboard shortcuts; a Today Widget in Notification Center for quick access to your to-dos; Handoff support for seamless transition between Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch; an “Add to Things” extension for creating to-dos from other apps; and Push Sync with Background Refresh to keep to-dos up-to-date even while the app isn’t running.

Easy to use and works great. I agree a bit pricey but very glad I have it. I've been working with GTD off and on for years, now really going for it and Things is helping greatly.

Excellent But Priced Too High (2.8.9)

Superb list manager, but I'm docking one star because the price is too high relative to the value it delivers.

I’ve tried them all, and Things is the best! (2.8.9)

I’ve tried every major to-do app on the App Store, from Todoist, to 2Do, to Wanderlust and even OmniFocus. But Things is still the best out there for me. It all starts with the Today view, the most important aspect of any to-do app - focusing on what you have to do today and also want to do today. Most other app’s today view only consists of items that are due today - as in, items that *must* be completed or else there will be a negative consequence. But that’s not all, there are also tasks that you would LIKE to get done today, but nothing will happen if they are not completed today. You can have both in things, you just star any task you want to do today. Additionally, Things offers a Daily Review, which automatically shows due and scheduled tasks and you can decide whether or not to act on them. By using this system, nothing will slip through the cracks, as Things will keep you accountable. Things does not only help you get things done for today, but also for the future. There is a Next list, which contains to-dos that you can do any time. There is a unique Scheduled list, in which you can schedule a task to be reviewed on a certain day. This is one of my favorite features, being able to separate when you want to do a tasks and it’s due date. This way, you can use due dates for items that have firm deadlines, and schedule tasks just for when you want to work on them. Things also has a Someday list, where you can put items that you have not yet committed to but may be of interest in the future. When a task is too complex, you can use projects instead, which contain multiple tasks. Projects themselves can also be played in the Scheduled and Someday lists as well. That’s not even everything, there are also tags, which you can use to quickly filter tasks, Areas of Responsibility which let you group related tasks together (i.e., Work, Career, School, Family, etc). Things is the best to-do app out there, please give it a try.

Simplicity is Genius (2.8.8)
11/18/2016 12:49:00 AM 1/5 By Souporman82
Update 11/17/2016: Needs updates I've always believed that the better one becomes at something, the simpler their process gets, and then the genius in them begins to shine. This app is missing a lot of the bells and whistles that other apps have in abundance, but I believe that's where its true power lies. Its uncluttered straightforward design, which I'm sure took a lot of time and thoughtful refinement in trimming the unneeded or redundant features, makes task management noise free and forward flowing. At first I found it odd that such a high priced product was missing something so basic as reminder alarms for each task. Then I realized this isn't one of the many reminders list apps that flood the App Store, but rather a full fledged task manager...and a good one at that. I remembered how quickly I became numb to all of my reminders in the stock iOS app that I'd assigned alarms to, and then started ignoring their nagging chimes 'til I wasn't doing any of them. In this, I now agree with Culture Code-less is more. No amount of blaring alarms is going to make me do my tasks if I don't want to. I know I have them, but what I actually need is a way to organize and concentrate on them in a way that is meaningful to me and gives me a sense of accomplishment. I believe "Things" does this. I love the clean interface immediately upon opening the app, and the ease of creating a task and then being able to assign it into a project, into an AREA of responsibility, adding tags or due dates and notes, with just a few taps and in just a few seconds. Other apps are very powerful in that they have more features, but they're cumbersome and require too many steps, menus and time to create each task. And don't forget that "Things" now works with Siri (and quite well I might add), and it quickly syncs across multiple devices. This is not only for basic reminders or lists, but more for those who can never seem to acomplish everything they need to in their daily routine, on top of having to juggle the unexpected. It really shines though, when used for reaching goals in life that require many, many steps, which are sometimes complicated and difficult to focus on. "Things" declutters those like a neat desk with its clearly marked compartments and it's openly available tools. The Projects folder, AREA of responsibility section(activated in the settings menu) and unlimited tagging, makes this an invaluable tool I will be using for years to come. For reference I have used: Google tasks, hotmails to-dos, toodledo, 2Do, Wunderlist,, Errands To-Do List, Asana, IQTELL, and Remember The Milk.

Use it daily (2.8.8)

This is a great app minus one feature. It needs a calendar. Not having a calendar is like buying a car with three wheels. Everything else about the app is excellent. The layout and how everything works is logical and fits my brain perfectly. Having said all these nice things, I'm moving on to another app. The lack of a calendar is unacceptable. I do hope the developer is listening and incorporates this most basic feature in the future. 😊
